8600GTS Overclocking - Page 2

It's the temp silicon starts degrading at. You'll be good for about 5+ years at 70c+ if my P4 is correct.

Don't let the temp exceed 100c though. You'll burn the thermal interface goop off. Clean the heatsink and apply some real thermalpaste. These cards run hot, but they are not X19**'s.

You should buy a new cooler for it, I bought a ZALMAN VF900-Cu for it and I could get 200 more MHz out of the memory clock and my GPU temperature is always below 55°C.
