Stock Q6600 temps

Thread Starter
putting together a rig for a buddy of mine, idle is around low to mid 40s and load is anywhere between mid 60s to low 70s.

im using a big typhoon and AS5, stepping is B3, are these temps normal? not planning to OC anytime soon but can he live with those temps?

cheers

I would say those temps are fairly high. Might want to remount the Big Typhoon . I have heard that it is not good for a Quad to go Over 60c.

I would of thought applying a thin layer of AS5 should decrease the temps slightly, again the heatsink might need to be reseated. 40s on idle is pretty impressive for a quad core

i thought you said you were using a big typhoon. and yes the stock cooler should run about 60 load so the big typhoon should be like 50 or under at stock speed and voltage
