Uh, Why did my 8800 GTX's do this?

I was playing CSS for not even 10 minutes or so when my video cards started to make a "high pitched" squeal like an alarm or something. So i quickly went behind the computer and shut off the power supply and restarted the PC. And windows loaded fine. And I played CSS again for almost 2 hours and it never did it again. What the hell happened? I spent all this money and it seams one thing after another something is going wrong.

ERR, i think there is a lose connection in my Power supply..i just realized even the slightest bump on my desk causes the alarm sound to go off, so, i checked all my connections and they are all tightly in position.

its the alarm on your 8800 card, when its underpowered it starts a endless beep, its the psu not providing enough power, or the power connector to your card thats faulty or loose.......

Edit:

could be 1: faulty connector (its worn out) 2:its not properly in the pcixpress slot, reseat the card, or 3: the soldering points, or your cables where the power goes out your psu or into your card are unreliable 4: don't bump the desk anymore

High pitch squeal, that is so loud that hurts your hears?

Yes that means the card is not getting enough power. And with the PSU thats suprising, faulty card OR faulty PSU.

You made the right choice, probably the PSU.
