I downloaded nLite and I've added the raid drivers to it - Hopefully it works

Just burning it now

Forgot about that option...I love nlite, did you customize it all first?

um... what you need is to slipstream your raid driver into your XP installation CD. Here is "HOW TO" guide from maximum pc

That is what nlite is for, you can customize the packages that are installed with XP.

lol, that looks like so much more work than just putting a floppy in.

ok this is really start to fluster me. i created a raid 0 on my main computer. 2 320gb 7200rpm drives. the raid setup fine. but when trying to install xp it dosn't see the drive. i know its cus the driver isn't their for the install to see the raid. so i downloaded nlite, coppied the contents of xp onto my desktop along with the drivers needed for the raid and used them with nlite to create a new xp install disc. (nlite is really cool by the way) anywas during the install i hit F6 for installing a raid driver and it STILL doesn't see the drivers i put on the disc!! soo, i cont on to see if mabey it will auto load the drivers, nope. same problem. "windows did not detect any harddrivers, blah blah blah blah."

I'm starting to wonder if i set somthing up wrong in my bios. but i did follow the manual from my mobo.

ANY help would be great!

O ya, another quick question. I have a ASUS m2n32-SLIDeluxe mobo and on it, it has 6 sata ports for HD. but their's another port for raid drive that is isolated on the other side of the board. anyone have an idea what it might be for. the manual wasn't very helpful.

When you say you used nlite, do you mean you just added the driver files somewhere on the disk? or did you use the driver add function of nlite? If you did the later you won't have to press F6 when it loads up... but you will have to remove the default RAID drivers that come with XP (you'll see it during nLite's wizard) or you could run into problems after the install completes

Edit: regarding that Sata? port not with the others. It's probably on a different controller, handy if you have a Sata optical, or a storage harddrive that's not on the RAID array, so it won't have to initialize as part of the array.

I've always been able to load drivers via USB on the Asus P5N32-E SLI. I've never had issues, when I've performed XP installs it always detects the drivers on the USB drive.
