2 medium cards or 1 monster? - Page 2

I would think getting one 8800 GTS now will play almost every game for the next 6 months then you can get sli to keep up and another GTS card will be cheaper. By the time two SLI GTS cards are not able to play games then they will be pretty much outdated and Im sure the next generation cards will be affordable.

If you are going to spend the same amount of money anyways, why not get just one card though ? The performance will all depend on what resolutions you want to run, what games you are playing etc.

edit : as mentioned above, why not just get one gts for now ?

MONSTER KILL!

Get the 8800GTS... you can find better prices than that. I'm not familiar with good online stores in the US but I think www.newegg.com is your best bet.

2x8600GTS does not equal to 1x8800GTS even if it is about the same price.

Definately get one monster, dont forget if its not a new complete computer then you will probably need more RAM,MOBO and PSU
