Trying to overclock a 4000+

Thread Starter
I have been trying today to overclock a new 4000+ that I just got. My mobo is an Abit K8T800P. I was told to raise my FSB from 200 to 250. The problem is, whenever I do this my computer refuses to boot, and I have to reset my bios.

Am I doing something wrong? If not, is there a way to tell what the limiting factor is? I am very new to this

Welcome to the forums!

Let me be the first to tell you to update your system in your UserCP.

Anyway, there is something (I forgot the name, I haven't overclocked in a while, but I will when I get my DFI board) and it starts on 5x. Lower it to 4 and try again. Also, lower your Ram fsb or w/e its called. Kind of shooting in the dark here. I have terrible memory lol.
