AC Freezer 7 Pro or TT?

Thread Starter
Ok, so obviously TT is better, but these are the two I am looking at right now, and I am wondering about the value. The TT is ~$65, whereas the AC is only ~$40. I'll be getting a Q6600 soon, and I figure stock cooling won't be very good. I was thinking to OC to about 3GHz maybe, so what do you guys think?

Oh, and my case is Antec 900, and I always keep my place cool, so case temps should be good.

The AC Freezer 7 Pro is $24.99 at Xoxide. Not sure about Newegg.

TT is going to help you out with that Q6600 alot more than the Freezer 7. both are good though. the freezer 7 is a low priced alternative that competes with higher priced coolers but if you got the cash dont think twice get the TT

Well I can personally attest to the capability of the AC Freezer 7 Pro. My E6300 is abnormally hot using the stock HS while overclocked. I was hitting 70c under load, which is unacceptable. Now I max out at 45c under load, and that was before I moved my computer into an air-conditioned room, which dropped the temps down to 38c under load, and 32-34c idle (the air conditioner I use is cyclic, of course).

I would suggest the AC Freezer 7 Pro, and use some AS5. If it could drop my retarded temps by 30c, it can help you out too.

Cool, thanks everyone. I think I'm gonna intall my Q6600 with stock cooling first just to see what the temps are, haha. If the temps are insane, then I'll force myself to go with the TT. Otherwise, I may just go with the AC.

I like the LED version of the TT, very cool.

Good idea, but my money is on the TT for a quad. If installed properly the TT120 will do you well.

The other thing is I don't like cooling that requires you to take out the mobo to install a bracket, lol. The AC is much easier to install, not to mention much lighter so there will be less stress on the mobo. Anyways, I guess that's what you gotta do if you want the best cooling, so now I'm just gonna wait and see.

Lol, would you be offended if i said Booo friggin whooo? I hope not

Big deal, you take out the mobo once, and slap on a cooler, then put it back in. If you do it right the first time it's not big deal.

And the stress on the motherboard isn't even a problem.
