I suck, again - Page 2

Surround sound , low/high dpi mouse , and lots of fps.
Also , watch for change of shapes , everything on the landscape is pretty static so a bobbing torso stands out if you sort of un-focus your eyes.

I can kinda unfocus my eyes, but I can't do it on demand. Mabye i'm trying to hard? It just seems like I can't hit anyone. And I know the first hit counts because they know where you are at if you miss. Ohh yeah I keep on getting pwned by walkers, APC's and voss n00b's.

You know...I love 2142, but I have totally given up on the sniping bit. I will see bullets hit people on the head and it doesn't kill them. I bet about a good 30% of my kills every game are snipers and if I pay attension to the names of them I will notice that they are never that high up on the ranking board. I think BF2142 is just one of those game where you just got to keep moving. My collection of engineer and recon dog tags has grown rather large...

Well actually I guess I do snipe a bit...but I do it with the support kit. Once you go prone and aim in with the upgraded machine gun it gets rather acurate after a few shots. Work really good when I go drop my sentry gun a ways away from me. Peopel get all worried and run over there to kill the bot that they don't see me aiming a massive gun at their head. I take in a lot kills with that tactic. Use the person radar thing to increase effectiveness

I have noticed that a lot of my shots hit people, but do nothing, so mabye that is the problem! I think my ping is a little high and that might be why. I did do support for a while, but then voss noobs would run up on me and kill me in literally 1 second. It's crazy i'll be 200 yards away from someone and they will kill me in a second with a voss, not the rocket, and I had full health. Well hell, I might as well be sniping with the voss lol. But yeah this game is very confusing. lol

Even when sniping, never stay in one spot for long. Someone will spot you and flank you.

Don't go to the "sniper" areas (rooftops, the silo things, catwalks), it's the first place anyone looks when they see/hear/feel a sniper shot. Instead, look for deformities and hills in the terrain to hide by. If you're PAC, hide in shadow; your dark armor will make you very hard to see.

Most of the time, just wait until your target stops to kill them. It's rarely worth the chance of giving away your position to try and hit a moving target. There are some exceptions to this and you'll see those when they arise. Those shots that you just KNOW you can make.

When you see someone and aim at them, remember the military acronym: BRASS (Breathe, Relax, Aim, Sight, Squeeze). Take your time for each shot and make it count.
