That's pretty cool, Get some arctic silver 5 like I recommended, clean off your intel heatsink fan and start over.

Give AS5 a few days to cure and reach its optimal performance and you should be good

at stock everything the stock cooler kept me below 55c load, but i used AS5.

as for reseating, is te heatsink atleast warm? and do you have good or decent case airflow
post #13 of 30
I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be above 60C load @ stock clocks + a cleaned stock HSF.

However, you should make sure that you personally set your own vCore n'all that good stuff to make sure you've got the lowest temps possible @ stock + Stable... then move on.

Hmm.. my hand over the heatsink fan and it seems kinda cool. I even put my finger on the metal spiral things (which I assume is the heatsink heat spread) and it didn't burn my finger or anything... I don't feel that much heat coming from it.

Is your vCore set to auto? Set it to 1.372 or lower if it is.

I had trouble doing the seating and I may have disturbed the thermal paste on the CPU heat spreader bit much. So I'm assuming I should go get another type of heatsink? I don't plan on doing any crazy overclocking, so what aircooling/heatsink should I get for around $50?

I would probably have to reapply thermal paste, so I guess I'll need to buy arctic silver 5. I also read somewhere that I should clean off the stock thermal paste that's already on the CPU spreader... but HOW do i do that?

This is my first time ever building a comp and installing a CPU, so doing anything with the CPU makes me paranoid.

Any advice is is appreciated, thanks.
I got a B3 with a tuniq runns 3.2 ghz at 30C and 45 load on all four(never othos 12hr yet

But WOULD you overclock if you had good temps? If you get something like the Tuniq Tower and seat it well, then you should be very pleased with your temps. Pleased enough to be comfortable with overclocking, if you want.

I remember back when I was living at home with my mom and I totally took her Isopropyl alcohol so that I could do things like this. I still have that same bottle too, lol.

1.372?!? seems kinda high for stock, at stock i run it at 1.2v... 1.372 is to high for stock unless he has a bad batch

have you run stability tests @ that Voltage? Especially if you're B3.

Also, more than likely, he hasn't gone to manually input his voltages to decrease temperatures.
