well.. while I was playing a game - I had no lag, or anything. but I did stick my hand at the exhaust of the Zalman and the air DID NOT feel warm!

I guess its not mounted properly...but I dont know how that could be...

Possibility #2: Temperature report is entirely wrong.

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and think that the HSF installation is optimal. There are just far too many reports (here on OCN and on other forums I visit) that suggest that Brisbanes are misreporting their temperatures.

Other than that, I'm not sure what else could be up, to be honest.

(Unless, of course, your ambient temperatures are around like they are in my bedroom -- circa 85 - 90 degs Fahrenheit!)

Do a remount.
And then you'll be SURE.

If you KNOW you mounted it right.. then you'll have a better premise to say that the readings are just incorrect.

alright, I decided to push my CPU and see what would happen.

I got to 2.2 and it said around 65C... so I'm like... this HAS to be wrong, lets see what 2.4 does.

I pushed it to 2.4, and windows would not start up. I guess this means that my Zalman isn't mounted properly.

I guess I'll try a remount - but before I do, what precautions should I take? I feel if I do a remount without making sure of anything... it'll just end up how it is now.

thanks,
deagle
