Help! OC'ing P5N32-E Sli Plus + E6750 + Ballistix - Page 2

use orthos to test for stability. i usually aim for at least 8 hours of orthos without errors for a 24/7 OC. BSOD is probably, but not necessarily, a RAM issue.

and yeah, when i started reading this i was thinking "sounds like an FSB hole," as there's simply no way the board or the CPU was limiting you to 3 GHz.

I was running into the same probs with the 3.0 OC, But With the help here , so far so good @ 3.360, "Running Orthos as I type"

Im wanting to know if my Voltages are good, or need tweeking!
Im still a little new with OCing, My last system was a lot easyer overclocking than this one, was running a P5B Deluxe with a E6420 @ 3.5, I gave it to my kids, They needed it for school...... lol so I told my wife.... lol

But anyway..

Im now running
P5N32-E SLI Plus
Conreo E6750 @ 3.360Ghz
4 gigs of Crucial Balistic Tracers X pc8500 @ 840Mhz 5.5.5.15
Zalmen CNPS9700 NT Cooler
A big ol Xclio Wind Tunnel Case

My Voltages in the Bios are
Vcore 1.39
1.2v HT 1.36
NB 1.39
SB 1.53
CPU VTT 1.40
DDR2 Term, 1.04

Orthos is still good at about 25 minutes, But I'v otten the blue screen of death once and have started over,, but that may be a driver issue.

Is there anything you guys would try or do diffrant? ,, and I plan on going higher if this holds good,, just don't want to blow anything up..

Doesn't the updated 1203 BIOS for the P5n32-E SLI have better support for overclocking 1333MHz CPUs?

PM Mhill2029

He is the man for this board.

My quad is at 3Ghz on a 1.30V Core so you shouldn't be on 1.5.

Have a go with these settings:

V Core: 1.35v
Memory: 2.00v
1.2HT VTT: 1.25v
NB: 1.35v
SB: 1.55v
CPU VTT: 1.5v

Put the FSB to 1333 which will get you 3Ghz to start with.

Put the Memory and FSB to LINKED and in SYNC MODE.

Now if it is stable at them settings then you can slowly start to up the FSB again until you need more V Core....

I was having problems getting past 2.8 until i tried the memory in synced mode.

Got a stedy 6 and a half hours on orthos running 3.52Ghz

M voltages are

V Core: 1.45v
NB: 1.35v
SB: 1.55v
CPU VTT: 1.35v

Trying 3.6 as I type I raised the Vcore to 4.65 and the NB to 1.4.. is held for 10 minutes so far so good!!
