c2d cooling decision

Hi i am upgrading in september to a c2d system prob e6750 or e6550 and i have an asus star ice cooler at the mo and was wondering if that or the stock cooler would be better or should i get a zalman or something else i will either have the p5ne-sli or a p5b not sure which

get a zalman; or i recommend getting the ultra 120 extreme

If you can afford ~$85US for a Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme and a good fan, I can attest to the performance. With ambients of 21C, I'm idling around 26C (3.2GHz, 1.325v vCore). Load temps around 41C.

because my star ice is quite loud and i was thinking of the silent knight one from asus but was wondering how the stock fan is just as is

Either the Thermalright Ultra 120 or Tuniq Tower 120 would be the best air coolers to use when it comes to overclocking.
