"World Series of Video Games"

I just watched this on CBS I have to say I think the whole thing was kind of silly.

They had a wicked hot girl and some jocky-looking guy reporting, both of whom have likely never played a video game before and would never talk to any of the guys on the show outside of the competition. That kind of ticked me off a bit, how artificial it was. I suppose more people will watch if there's a clueless hot chick rather than a scrawny nerdy 16-year-old who actually knows the games, and I can't fault them in their decision.

I thought the guitar hero thing was pretty cool, but again they had the necessary clueless hot chick in the judges panel

They also did a quick fight night competition which I found very boring, but then again I never liked that game anyways.

The last segment of the show was a WoW 3v3 match. I thought this was pretty cool, though again the announcers were pretty clueless and it just seemed really cheesy to me.

With all the games they sped through the actual gameplay and it was more like watching a highlights show on ESPN or something than watching a clan match in a game.

Another gripe I have with the show is that it's so unknown. I mean who are these people, what is this tournament they proclaim to be the "World Series of Video Games"? What about CPL? I don't really know of any other big LANs but I know there are plenty of big tournaments... What makes this one so special?

I thought it was great to see a TV show about gaming, but on the whole I didn't really like it. I don't know what I would do differently, since I did like seeing the clueless hot chicks around

Meh. What do you guys think of this?

I think g4 should do something where then just send out the game like in sourcetv. Then you could just cycle through the players with your remote. Now that would be a kick@$$ show.

Oh btw, SUP PETEY!

How dare they put attractive people on TV!

lol I dunno, they're trying to fit in I guess...maybe Starcraft is becoming more popular than Soccer? I'm kind of at a loss.

Society is going downhill, we live in the age of YouTube, MySpace profiles, and World of Warcraft plagueing the land.

Eventually every man, child, and woman will be mentally incapable of reproduction and the Earth will stop moving...

...so cold...so very very cold...
