1.65v yields same results.
I just opened everest Home, and it shows the 2.5v at 1.14v...?

Man it's got to be your mobo. AT 330 something it's just at it's limit. I think you've got a great chip if your stable at 2.9 ish with 1.4 vcore. Can you pick up a new board? There are several 939 boards for sale in the for sale section. There was one or two based on the Crossfire 3200 chipset which I remember in review getting to a really high FSB similar to what the DFI's could do.

Hopefully the new psu will cure it though.

i can get 2920mhz @ 1.4V, need 1.55V to get 3000. 1.7V for 3100.

my memory controler wont run 1:1 above aboue 2940mhz, so i have to drop to 166 div, (no volts help, 2T is a lot more stable, but not ideal)

Full stepping is: LCB9E 0641 APMW, 4800+ on Abit AX8. (decapped)

core temps become critical at higher clocks for me: at ~45c loaded 1.4v @ 2920 is stable in anything incl orthos, games, pi.... rising to 70c it needs 1.55v
3000 isnt stable with any votlage upto 1.7v above 60c core temp.

try lowering temps / dropping ram. it might get you the last little bit.
