P5k D + speedfan, control all?

Thread Starter
anyone have a p5k D and know if speedfan can control all 6 fan connectors? especially if it can control the PWM CPU connector when only a 3 pin is connected

need to figure out if im going to need a fan speed controller or not

also, anyone know for sure if its ok to run 2x fans off the same 3 pin mobo connector? never tried it

Not sure about your BIOS, but I am able to adjust the fans through my BIOs instead of a fan controller.

I've seen people run as many as 8 fans off of 1 3-pin conector with no problems, all through I wouldn't recommend more than 3.

I can tell you that the p5k D is a very nice peice of hardware, havent gotten mine up and running yet. Still waiting on a couple parts but i'll be making a post either this weekend or after i get back from my trip about my thoughts on it and the rest of my system! And you should be able to control all the fans thru the bios to answer the OP's question.

You can connect more than 1 fan/connector. As I know, Asus rate their fan connector @ 1A /conncetor (usually case fan rate from 0.1A to 0.4A and maybe more) . BUT, I don't think that's good idea to has more than 1 fan/connector because it'll stress the mobo so much and not good in the meaning of OCing. The best way is connect all fans to the seperate fan controller exclude CPU fan.
