Well from some review sites I've read just random google searches.. I can't seem to find a good review of the e21 compared to the X2

no just my 2cents

any amd dual core at 2.7-3ghz is about equal to a c2d at 2.66ghz

Hahaha try like 4Ghz AMD is about equal to a C2D 2.4Ghz.

http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=615474
Overclocked to 4Ghz - AMD 6000+ X2
22.47 sec

http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=573043
STOCK SPEED 2.4Ghz - Intel Core 2 E6600
22.53 sec

http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=615729
Overclocked to 4Ghz - Core 2 Xeon 3070
13.02 sec

SuperPi performance is nearly linear of the CPU Mhz speed. it's easy to prove with 2 CPU of the same technology like 2x Core 2 tests.
Proof?

4Ghz x 13.02 sec = 52.08
2.4Ghz x 22.53 = 54.08
Very close. The difference is due to the memory timmings and straps used but nothing groundbreaking it show very well how the test is dependant on the CPU power on top of anything.

For each MHz, the Core 2 is 58% faster than the AMD X2 CPU's

Actually SuperPi is very bad in general in AMD.. You would know that if you took your head out of your arse.

SuperPi relies heavily on the Cache and has always worked better for Intel..

In real world environments a processor like the FX at 2.8 is just as good as your Core 2 e66.. and a few seconds honestly won't give a damn.

EDIT: And another thing, how the heck did you pull the K8 needs to be almost double to equal a C2D.

This isn't PentD and K8 X2's.. Remember that.. So no I don't need 4GHz to be at the same power as you.. I do need more than you but not double.. So please.. Besides it's nearly impossible to get K8 to 3.2+Ghz so 4 is just stupid to say. And with an attitude.

My head out of my arse? Why so hostile? Can't take it when AMD get beaten to the ground? You should wake up from your day dream. They lost that round. Plain and simple. And don't even think about calling me a fanboy (saying that before you start to use it) because my previous system was opteron + ATI vid card. I go where the performance is best and the Performance is with intel and Nvidia at the current time.

How do you want to test then? Go ahead tell me what to run and we shall compare the results I will even downclock my CPU to match yours. Chose a benchmark with results in seconds or something. Not SystemMarks or some stupid inquantifiable ****.

I did made a mistake, I said 172% faster but In fact what I wanted to say is: "172 percent the speed of the AMD". That is in fact 58.13953488372093% faster. This is what I should have said.

Of course the numbers there can be influenced by the rest of the system but it's somewhat accurate.

I honestly cannot compete with your system...

http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_20...=877&chart=431

It doesn't take a 4Ghz AMD to make a 2.4 C2D.

I don't like when people exaggerate things..

It only takes 3Ghz.... Lol

And what 5 seconds?

If you are gonna quote me results don't chose ****ty toms hardware charts.

Do you own Quake 2? This game is so old it has a software rendering mode using absolutely no 3D acceleration.

Want to try a timedemo run in software mode in 640x480? i will set my CPU at the same Mhz than your system and we can compare the timedemo runs. In software mode the graphic card won't mater and we will get only pure CPU rendering. We shall see once and for all who is right. You can even install the 3dnow patch if you wish.

Of course you will say you down have Q2 so if anyone else with an AMD system want to test that experiment that would be fun.

If Quake 3 can run in software mode and you can downclock your cpu to 2ghz, ill give it a go just to end this!

EDIT: Im on an Opteron 170 right now
