Well i was playing the Wii yesterday and it was fine. I switched it off for a while, when i came back it just didnt respond (the Wiimote that is) only the lights were flashing so i though that batteries are dead so i replaced them, now i can only switch the Wii on and off from the remote and just press A in the beginning, theres no cursor or anything..how do i fix this!!.

Verify that your sensor is visible for the remote, and also make sure that it's cable did not come lose from the console.

If that doesn't work I afraid you either have a faulty sensor or remote. Probably the sensor, which is only replaceable by RMAing the wii or buying a new one I believe...

Try turning the console off and then back on as well. Maybe try some different batteries again.

I've never heard of this happening and honestly I would try contacting nintendo and see what they say. I'm out of ideas either something is messing up the Wii signal, the wii remote is faulty, the wii sensor bar is faulty, or the wii is faulty.

Have you tried this yet ?

I believe if you hold down the red sync button on the Console for 15-30 seconds (Can't remember how long exactly) it will remove all connections with all Wii motes and then you can re-sync everything back up.
