yeah, any DDR ram should work on a DDR 400 supported mobo.

Yup, if the DDR is slower than DDR400.. it will just down clock the divider automatically (usually).

.... and then you just overclock back to DDR400 because that's what we do here .

Just curious, what is the speed rating for the DDR that your trying to put in the motherboard?

I think on some motherboards, you have to manually set a divider or else it auto clocks it to whatever the FSB is set to and then it could possibly cause errors if its overclocking the ram.
