Media Center on Vista Business?

Thread Starter
My school recently added Vista Business to it's MSDN software available to us. It'll be about $25-30 with shipping. The only thing is that Business doesn't come with Media Center! I guess I'll live....but is there a way to add it to it?

I don't believe you can add WMC if it's not "embedded" in the actual OS.

The only version of Vista that has Media Center is the Ultimate. I use the business edition. I've been using WMP 11 without issues and VLC media player. What are you trying to do exactly.

Nope, can't do that. Media center really doesn't seem useful though, there's plenty of free programs that can take it's place. VLC is a good one, it can play anything out there.

Alright...is there any other feature that I might miss? I looked at the comparison chart at Microsoft's site and it doesn't seem like anything else useful is gone.

You'll lose Bitlocker, Dreamscene, and a few other small utlilities that don't matter much.

actually home premium has it also. business is fine. i have it on my computer and it is great. you just have to organize your videos yourself instead of it all automatically being in the media center
