E6320 @ 2.66Ghz, few questions inside for furture oc. - Page 2

Thread Starter
well anyway my friend,
i think i got it stable at 400x7 2800mhz.
but check this out, i gave the vcore 1.35v while as i can see whehn im running orthos and looking at the everest sensor menu, the voltage values for the cpu core is 1.26v (on load).
so we could say if i decrease it to 1.325v or even one noutch less it will be better for the cpu?

on load btw the cpu core temps are around the 45-47c.
i guess it's fine and i have the feeling i will get it up to 3000mhz tonight.
i'll keep you posted, for now share your opinion bro, i need it.

I would try increasing the vcore to 1.4v and see if you can get up past 2.8ghz.

why would i need to increase the vcore up to 1.4v, people are getting to 3.2ghz on stock voltages everyday.

and the max voltage that my cpu has needed was 1.3v for now.

for now im at 410x7.
edit: not stable.

back to 400x7, run orthos for an hour, did well.
2v for memory, 1.35v vcore, mch 1.3v.
e6320 @ 2.8ghz.
im quitting.
thx sgt for help.

While a lot of people are breaking 3GHz on stock volts, it doesn't mean your chip can, especially as it has a low multiplier and therefore needs high FSB frequencies. CPU core voltage is ok up to about 1.55v for everyday use, as long as temps aren't too high. Dial Vcore to 1.4 and see if you can break 3GHz.

well atm i'm at 420*7 - stable.
im afraid of touching it, to ruin it.

i'm sure i could add another 10mhz to the bus spd but i'm really afraid of touching it now when it's stable at almost 3ghz.

I've never seen PC5300 that can clock more than 200mhz above stock speeds...
there is plenty...just not his RAM

As for your OC, you cannot maintain a stable OC due to your RAM! Although 2.8-3ghz is the limit from my experience with the e6320..no matter what FSB. I choose to leave mine at 2.8ghz for everyday F@H use, 3ghz just needed too much vcore increase for the extra 200mhz...its not worth it.

check the e6320 in my sig

why? what vcore did you set for stabling 3ghz ?
i have set 1.35v i think.
yup, as it says in everest.

1.32vcore for 3hr Orthos stable and 1000% MemTest...@ 400mhz FSB for 2.8ghz...Im sure it had some more left in it...just that 3ghz was sort of the point of diminishing returns...too much vcore for not enough speed. Its still perfectly fine to add more vcore if you are trying for faster...its just that you need to add so much more for a minimal increase...to me that is the point to stop at for 24/7 folding use.
