Dropped about 30C with this 1

Thread Starter
I was looking at alot of these posts and was wondering why nobody cools there computer the way i do (its pretty simple ) All i do is leave the AC on in my room, open my computer case, get

and just have the fan blowing onto my tower, i kept the fan about 4 inches away and had the best results, 25C idle, and topped at 47C while using 3dmark, the fan has 3 adjustible speeds and at the fastest it gets very loud which i dont mind. On the medium speed which is quiet i would get 35C idle and 50-55C working.

Cpu: E6600, 3 gigs ram, 7600gt and one additional fan in the tower. Is there any problems to this? I used it for 3 days without any...

Besides dust, nothing wrong with doing it.

It's just highly impractical, which is why not many people do it.

lol its practical for me, i just turn it off at night and keep it on while using the computer the only problem i can see with it is that its loud and considering that the fan costs about 18 bucks, that 25-30C drop i got was quite amazing

and considering some people use refrigerators and mineral oil, and make all these crazy experiments what the hell is the definition of practical to some people i dunno, but this would seem easier then half of these experiments lol

liquid (water mainly) cooling is the most effective but still practical way but is cost like $200 for a good setup...

tai what where your temp differences?

The reason my temps dropped so much is obviously cause the fan is blowing cool air from the room being cold with the ac on, i havent tested it without the ac on but im sure it causes like a 7-10C diff, i cant test it now cause my motherboard fried and im waiting till about friday to rebuild it and reasons it fried wasnt the fan (i tried to overclock a intel motherboard which didnt support OC options)

Without the fan and AC on, I would idle at 40~41C with load temps of 54~56C on Orthos.

With the fan and AC, I get an idle temp of 25C and load temps of 34C.
