I have the same mobo, CPU, and 4x RAM as you have, but I cannot get the RAM to work on that mobo when all four modules are installed. I'm working on what I call my Antec 442 computer (4 GPU, 4 RAM, 2 Core CPU), but when I have all four RAM modules installed, the PC won't boot to Windows, and frequently locks just in the CMOS. I had these same components installed on an Abit Fatal1ty AN8-SLI, and they worked reasonably well, but I wanted a mobo that would allow one empty space between my two GeForce 7950GX2 video cards for cooling purposes, and one that would hopefully allow me to overclock the RAM. The Abit board wouldn't OC the RAM worth a squirt, and would only run it at DDR333 speeds. I tried a Biostar TForce4-SLI mobo, and while it was happier with the RAM, it had SLI problems and I had to send it back. Now I'm trying an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, and while it does overclock well, I can't use all four RAM modules, and even when using two, they are not running at 188.8.131.52 timings like they should.
So, I believe you are still on the 1011 bios, right? Can you share your bios settings in detail, so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong?
Congrats on your lap job. I always planned to lap my OEM AMD heatpipe cooler, but it was working so well that I just never got around to it. When my room temp was 27c, my Opteron 165 would idle at 28c, and load temps would hover around 38c. I'm hoping the same cooler on my 4400+ will perform every bit as well.
