In a good water loop, the water temp delta is only a few degrees at much. Basically, the liquid in a PC loop is less than 10C (if that) over ambient.

I see a possible NEW cooling prospect.

But, I dont think it will ever be with the standard water cooling loops we have nowadays.

Maybe you could invent another type of loop yourself! ^_^

That's the point I'm trying to make Duckie, if you used something with a low specific heat it'd "give up" heat a lot faster in the rad, doubly so because the energy put into the fluid from the processor would increase the fluid's temp more. Essentially causing a higher delta T compared to water. The high Delta T in the rad would increase the speed of heat transfer out of the fluid into the air. You really couldn't tell without actually doing it.

mercury IS a liquid at its normal state, im sure if it got cold enough it would become a solid but in a house i cant see it becoming cold enough to become a solid, even if it did, all you would need to do is wait for it to become room temperature again

Mercury as the fluid might work, as it wont solidify, and it will conduct heat, though how well it does will have to be looked into. If the pump could push it, It might do well. But Mercury is VERY dense, so the pump would definitely quit faster than one in a normal water loop.

Gallium is your answer, using gallium (liquid under most condiitions in your home and normal temps), you can acheive high capacity, and low power usage as well as small and non toxic. The gallium is driven by magic, no not really, but instead magnetic pumps! Great stuff, quite pricey, but works.
Ultimately? Not much performance over watercooling, as you can only hit ambient
