CS:S Banning

Thread Starter
i just thought about something. when someone gets banned on CS:S are they banned from just that server or is their steam account just not allowed to play CS:S or something? i ask because i realized that if they are only banned from a server spammers and hackers could just go through every CS:S server they can find and continue terrorizing people

I'm pretty sure it's only that server. Servers might report you to Valve, and Valve might take away your account, though.. Only if you do something really annoying/bad.

what would be that annoying and bad that the admins would bother going through the effort of reporting them to valve?
Hacking, maybe?

By this I mean aimbot and stuff..

Lots of things. Valve will use their discretion though as something bad enough for a ban. Ex: Cheating, or hacking. Usually just getting kicked out of a server for being an annoyance won't get your account taken away.

Depends what kind of ban. VAC ban is globabl, but cannot be issued by an admin. It is detected automatically Normal bans can be issued by an admin and only affect that one server.

@pencap:good. i hate when a hacker manages to stay around for too long. im glad they can never come back most of the time

@fishie: wait so if the hacker can get past VAC they can basically go to all the servers they want and mess with people?

If you are banned for hacks or something by PB or whatever they use (forgot the name) I think that Valve looks in and bans you from all servers or takes your account away. Depends on the server you're playing on, protected or unprotected.
