Microsoft Confirms Windows XP SP3 - Page 2

I hope it's all a ploy to destroy XP and force everyone to Vista. I wouldn't go back to XP for short of a million dollars.

I don't think this would happen since most of the world still runs XP. Most companies probably chose to not upgrade since XP does what they need it to do. I'm pretty sure that microsoft wouldn't screw there corporate customers.

Sheesh you so crazy.. I'll go back to XP if you give me the 255$ I paid and then like 20$ on top...

Vista is basically XP with a skin but honestly some things I just got used to like Voice Recognition and Sidebar and the new start icon lol.. Also the start menu and CP... But other than that I mean Vista isn't godly. I always say if you are building a new PC.. Get Vista otherwise stick with XP.

$500 got you ultimate, but what did you get that the person buying the basic didn't get, maybe a better firewall and some more features here and there. That what annoys me about vista. The versions and pricing is outrageous for what you get. People pay it too since it was so hipped up during its release.

Vista has dynamic ram usage, DX10, allows you to pagefile on a flash USB memory stick, superfetch, more security (UAC for begninners of the PC world) and numerous enhancements over XP. I built this PC in my sig for XP and it runs Vista great.

Alright I got to say it. Everything there is nice but UAC and superfetch are just plain TRASH. UAC causes MORE problems because it interferes with everything. Superfetch actuallys slows down higher-end computers that don't need to cache everything. Superfetch is also known to cause games to chop up randomly.

I disable both UAC and superfetch as soon as I get to the desktop when I install Vista.
