Pushing the 8800gtx to a 24/7 stable max OC

Thread Starter
putting a plan together to overclock my 8800gtx to the max stable overclock to run a reliable 24/7 setup. any suggestions on what i should do?

-overvolt
-uprade cooling
-increase shader clocks

can anyone make more specific recommendations like what kind of cooling to use for near 1ghz clocks and what other components need to be upgraded for overvolting the card?

Close to 1GHz? I think that requires LN2.

Well my GTS *which is close to a GTX* gets to 650MHz for benchmarking with 1050MHz memory clock.

I run it 24/7 for gaming at 600MHz core and 1050MHz memory clock.

So yours might be able to get close to that, although i have known some GTXs to have trouble reaching those speeds.

Try it out, that is perfectly safe on air, providing you have half decent airflow.

My works 100% stable at 630/1000MHz from XFX, maxxed it at 650/1200MHz stable for almost 12 Hours under gaming...
