Vista x64 is amazing...

Thread Starter
Well I had to say it (again). Vista x64 is amazing. It is so fast and responsive to everything. It is secure (randomized kernel and only signed drivers). I have yet to have Vista crash once. It starts fast, loads apps fast, and changes between screens fast. Simply amazing.

And Windows super fast search box that is in the start menu and explorer is the best feature ever.

I am saying this after just using my XP Pro notebook... It is so sluggish compared to Vista x64. (and it is not the notebooks... 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo / 2GB / 256MB Video)

Make sure to perform those Vista tweaks like disabling unused tasks and services.

Yeah, I got 64 bit vista too, its pretty awesome. Havn't had any driver issues, apart from Printer drivers

DuckieHo, where do I find those tweaks?

I've had one bluescreen from vista, cant remember why now, but its all good and works smooth as anything!

I wouldn't praise it just yet, I've being using it since it came out so I have some fairly broad experience on various downsides to it.

Firefox doesn't always play nice for starters, the best tweaking program "vista smoker" is not compatible along with a few other good apps.

It can easily get bogged down just like anything else, needs regular maintenance.

I wish I could go vista...i can get it NP, its just that my scanner (somewhat aged) doesn't have compatible drivers for vista, if only there was a way to make them compatible

Here's an easy list: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...2110606,00.asp

There are other sites if you look around.

I agree Vista Ultimate 64bit is the OS MicroSoft can actually be proud of...

It's so much more responsive than Vista 32 bit there is no comparison.

And the SMP client Folds really fast on my set up in 64...

You can't just run them in compatibility mode?

My wireless PCI card did not have compatible drivers for Vista, but it worked anyways... Vista has tons of drivers built in that will work with almost any device.
