Need a nice pair of headphones

Thread Starter
I want to buy some headphones that have 5.1 surround (I only have a 2.1 speaker setup), a mic on a boom, and can cancel noise (don't want to hear tv or parents bickering in the background). I will be using these mostly for gaming. I'm hoping to spend <$100 on them.

Sennheiser does look like a quality choice for headphones, any particular favorites?

^ HD555 or HD595 for the price range.

I personally own the 555's. Finally got a chance to listen to some classical (Piano) songs and it make my hair stand on end.

Senns are great but for gaming, I think the Audio Technica A500 would be the best choice for you. Since you want isolation, the open can Sennheisers let some noise in whereas the A500's are closed.

And don't worry about a mic, just get a clip on.

Like Kopi said, Icemat Siberias are excellent. Extremely comfortable and great sound quality too. They also come with a clip on mic. Oh and it has a massive 10 foot long cord. I highly recommend them

The Icemats are pretty good for gaming.

Also, if you don't really mind the sound quality. Go with one of the Sennheiser's PC166 headphones, don't know the exact model but they're USB and they have very accurate audio positioning which gives you a huge advantage in gaming. The worlds best dotA player uses them
