Core temp (just google it)... it measures the temp inside the chip. Gives you a little bit better idea of what's going on.

Just try to keep temps lower than ~60 C with CoreTemp. You'll be fine.

Here's a thread that talks about the 5200+ and what has been tried. It isn't the max overclock, but it is a good reference to get to know terms and the processor.

Ok ty. Another thing (yawn if you like lol) all those other voltages you told me to put down yeah, when i put up the vcore do i put them up as well. I thought i might have to cause i just had the FSB to 220 and thats when errors were appearing so i put the Vcore to 1.35 +0.25 like you said and my system went mental and hung and i havnt hardly put anything up.

Also i have learned something else.....dont use a bluetooth keyboard when trying to OC lol.

Yea, .25 is a lot to increment by, but that was still low enough you should be fine. But it sounds like you need to up the Vcore (CPU voltage) a little bit. Up it the .025 and up FSB. If you don't gain stability, try the following:

Up the FSB voltage, boot into windows. Test stability
If Pass, reboot and up FSB, boot into windows and Test stability. continue till you fail
If Fail, reboot, put FSB voltage back where it was, change NB voltage, boot to windows and test stability.
If Pass, reboot and up FSB, boot into windows and Test stability. continue till you fail
If Fail, reboot, put NB voltage back where it was, change SB voltage, boot to windows and test stability.
If Pass, reboot and up FSB, boot into windows and test stability...continue till fail.

If fail, post back here We'll try to figure something out. Also note that your RAM may be holding you back some Make sure that your Ram is set to as low a frequency as it can go, this will take it out of the equation for now.

sorry it was 0.025....well saying that it must have been cause it was the next setting up.
Also. Core Temp at the moment is showing Frequency: 2420.00MHz (220.00x11.0) Which is what it is set as in the bios but doesnt 220.00x11.0 = 2662.0? Or am i being thick?

btw, If you need to clear CMOS (a.k.a. reset your bios to stock settings) as ae804 has said, than there is a button the the right side of your mobo labeled "clear cmos". When your system is off...after it wont post... press it twice and ALL your bios settings will be back to stock.

Also, you have the c4 version of your corsair memory, you should be able to get your timming to 4-4-4-12. But I would worry about that after you get your cpu oc stable.

I have the same mobo, and very similar cpu and mem, so (I am CERTAINLY no expert) but let me know if I can be of any help.

Also, you need to put your ram sticks in slots 1 and 3 OR 2 and 4. The way you have it makes the ram run in single channel mode, as opposed to dual channel

thanks for that tip about the memory dude, i will change that now

I have just changed it but now it says it is in one and two rather than three and 4 on CPU-Z. Shouldnt it say it is in 1 and 3, which is what i have done according to the manual?
Also i am worried about the HT Link. I read somewhere on here before that it should always be at 1000MHz but mine is at 1275MHz...how do i get that down?

There are 4 ram slots, two blue and two white, alternating--blue, white, blue, white. You need to put the ram sticks in either both blue or both white--so either 1 and 3 OR 2 and 4. I found the manual a little confusing in this area.

The HT link is traditionally supposed to be kept around 1000, but I have heard that AM2's can have it in the 1200 range. I usually run mine in the 1200 range, but to be safe you might want to keep it around 1000. Just to make sure that it is not the problem causing instability (proformance loss is negligable if not nothing). This can be done by changing the setting "CPU<-->NB HT Speed" in the overclocking screen of BIOS. If it is set to "auto" than it is at 5x by default. Change it to 3x or 4x to get it around 1000.

--HT LINK Speed=CPU freq(a.k.a. BUS Speed in CPU-Z) x what ever multiplier you set--

So if your CPU freq is 250 and your HT link multi is 5x than your HT Link will be at 1250.
