In the file c:\\windows\\system32\\Shell32.dll.

There should be some tool to extract them, but i'm as lost as you're on how to find it

there is a small free utility that is extremely usefull for extracting files from .exe and .dll files with ease and plus its free known as BatchIconExtractor.exe a simple google search would find this handy program with ease and all you the do is just drag and drop the .exe or .dll file onto the program to extract the images. Eradicating the need to install any crapware. hope you found this helpful also i can post a link to the software if you cannot find it just ask
