FBI Eavesdropping Abilities

I just put this up just because of how much we rely on technology and it is pretty scary to see just how much they are capable of spying on us through anything. Either way it is a very good article.

The FBI has quietly built a sophisticated, point-and-click surveillance system that performs instant wiretaps on almost any communications device, according to nearly a thousand pages of restricted documents newly released under the Freedom of Information Act.

I actually wanted to work with a federal security agency working on physical eaves dropping devices when i get my engineering degrees, but I just don't want any part in this.

Actually in MaximumPC for september I think, there is a pretty big article about companies that spy on you and retain a lot of your information and google was the worst, especially google toolbar, considering they hold your information for two years.

Apparently Ask.com keeps your infor for 24 hours or some very short period of time, so they were the top choice, You know I looked for it on MaximumPC, so I am wondering if the article was in CPU or PcGamer, either way it was a comparison of all the search engine companies and a list of how they track and store information. Does anyone by any chance know what I am talking about or have a link to an online version of the article?
