Firefox favorites missing

Thread Starter 
A friend of mine has lost all of his favorites in firefox.
Now he's pc has 2 or 3 spywares installed, but it never gave problems like this(yes i've told him to get a real av , but je doesn't listen...)
IS there a way to fix this?

i don't believe there is.

A few months ago, i opened firefox and all of my favorites, bookmarks and quick links were...GONE!

the skin i had installed was still there, as was all of the skins i have installed, but it was like a brand new fresh install of firefox...

I asked around about it, but no-one knew how to fix it...

So, i simply tried to remember them all and added them again...

Now i am back up and running and don't miss anything.

I think it's a glitch with firefox, but it's still 10x better than IE

Just add them again...it's all you can do IMO

Bookmark Backup is a simple extension that helps to keep your bookmarks (and optionally other Firefox settings) safe. Each time Firefox is closed, a copy of your bookmarks file will be made to a backup location. So if your bookmarks become corrupt or lost, you can recover them immediately

I like del.icio.us Bookmarks. One of my favorite add-on for FireFox. You mainly sign up, and download the add-on. Each time you bookmark a website, it'll automatically uploads it on del.icio.us site on the account you'll need to make. From there, you can easily save them and access them anywhere.

For your missing bookmark, try this.

Firefox keeps backups of your bookmarks in an html file. Search for "bookmarks" in your hard drive (everywhere) and look through the results.
