Goin Broke LCing, I must put that in my sig, or my user title, if I ever get the extra money to buy the overclocked account.
For me it's all about the performance to noise ratio. My sig rig is the one 5 feet from my bed, and it's also folding 24/7. Noise level on that system is critical, where the noise level on my P4 lappy is of no importance whatsoever, since it only is used for bookkeeping and such.
I really do need to transfer my rig to the Stacker, I'm sure the 41lb case will absorb more noise than this lightweight on my desk. The Rosewill has a lot of vent area on the side and it's not very thick metal. Plus this midtower is crammed full of gear now, with LC setup, Gfx card, tv card, sound card, 2 hdds, and an optical drive. The Stacker is huge, and will be much easier to get 2 rads into than hanging them off the side of the Rosewill. Actually, the Antec case i have has more room for the LC stuff than the Rosewill, even though it's a smaller case. I must get back to modding that case.
Maybe on the Monolith, a chambered system similar to the inside structure of a Flowmaster muffler would reduce noise. Have a v shaped baffle ahead of a fan blowing directly on the pump. I would draw a picture, but my drawing skills are terrible.
If all this wasn't fun, we wouldn't be doing it, or would we?
