ok so I was playing source and I got this memory could not be overwritten sign.

so I rebooted my system.

after I rebooted and went past the xp loading screen I saw the CS:S playing screen. so then my system automatically rebooted. then the second time I chose normal boot and it booted fine and then I got into windows and it says a device driver caused the problem.???

does anyone have any clue as to what is wrong?

Was it a blue screen before windows actualy boots to desktop?

If so, what does the blue screen say in the technical info section at the bottom..lots of numbers, the second set of numbers being STOP: 0x00000032?

If so windows is corrupt..pretty easy to fix if its that and if you have a windows XP CD. Tell me if it is and ill say how.

Edit: Windows could not start because the following files is missing or corrupt
\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM32\\CONFIG\\SYSTEM or \\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM32\\CONFIG\\SOFTWARE

^^ That error

nah there was no error message except in CS:S saying that memory was unableto be overwritten. then while rebooting, I just saw a CS:S screenshot then It rebooted just fine? then I sent the error report and It was a device driver? could it be my Gfx card driver?

I have had similar problims like that it was due to an unstable cpu oc for me (the device errors)as for the memory errors it could be you are pumping to much vdimm throught the ram or need to loosen the timings.

Those being stock timings i suspect the adjustment of the 5 to an 8 wont make much if any difference since i think with the number at 8 gives highest bandwhich (sp). and if returing to stock cpu speed there should be no need to loosen the timings.

stock is 2-3-2-6 for me I put it at 3.1 2-2-2-5 because yiffy did and its his ram and I have winbond BH-5. how long does memtest take? I got to 200% and 0 errors?
