I know is a great card and everything, but i still think it was a bad purchase. I hate going into the whole you could have done this and gotten it cheaper stuff but seriously. A home built water cooling would be just as good and a hell of a lot cheaper.

But have fun with it, I'm assuming you are going to try and push it further than it already is?

and could you send some of that money my way? i'm still trying to scrap together the money i spent on my box, which cost me half of what you paid for your card.

I definatly see where you guys are coming from. I've just gotten lucky and came into a bit of cash, and have never been able to make a killer box before, and have always been stuck with mediacore stuff, even when building a new rig. Believe me I worked my ass off for the cash. I just wanted to do somthing that I've seen friends and others do for once.

I will definatly hold off on a second one of these cards, I had not realized just how close the 9 series was to coming out. And from what I gather SP 1 of Vista will be DX10.1 which will require a DX10.1 card, and if I'm not mistaken will use the PCIE 2.0. I'd guess this stuff is still 4 to 6 months away. Either way the 8800 Ultra will still be a killer card for 2 years or so.

I thought the purchase through, actually took 3 weeks to decide to go and do it. I know I could have watercooled a stock 8800 Ultra, BUT I've never done any of that watercooling stuff, and would have no clue where to begin.

correct me if I am wrong.. so this is a 8800 ultra with waterblock installed. and u paid $950 for it

7.5% OC for the memory and 11.7% for the core. hahahahahaaa

a 8800 ultra run about $564 right now, and Leadtek is charging $386 for their 120mm watercooling setup? you know you can get this type of WC for $150 right?

I would say return that crap and get dual 8800 ultra~ spend around $300 for WC and you have an ultra fast setup

Two things.

1: With the card clocked so high, I wonder if you'll even be able to get anything else out of it? If so, I'm guessing not much.

2: For that price, you could get two eVga Ultra's (with 90 step up program, just in case the g92's come out), make a home-made water setup and most likely be around the same price or just a tad over with superior performance.

Oh and one more thing.

SP 1 will have 10.1, but really 10.1 is not that big of an update. Not enough to run out and buy another card for it.
