Q6600/Intel DP35DP

I just got this combo in today and added it to everything else in my stats below. I plugged everything in and flipped the power supply switch to on.... then the pc fired up on its own for two seconds then shut down and then repeated this until I unplugged it. the power supply was working perfectly on the pc in my sig.... is it too weak for the quad core and an 8800 gts? or is my motherboard bad? any ideas on how I can diagnose this? I'd try out tech support but I have to wait til monday... sorry for the bad grammar... typing this from my phone at work while I nervously and impatiently wait to get home and try to work this out. hehe. I'd appreciate any ideas!

Sounds like you don't have something seated properly, are you getting to post or any beep codes?

I reseated everything multiple times and tried two different power supplies. I tried an individual stick of ram in every slot. I read something that said if it wasn't a failing power supply then it was a bad mb. I'm going to exchange it tomorrow and give that a whirl. Crazy problem! hehe

out of curiosity, what store did you get the mobo at? I'd love to get parts at a store so I don't have to wait for that pesky shipping.

Sorry for the delayed reply. heh I go to cheapguys computers near fashion square mall on Colonial/SR50. They have a website www.cheapguys.com . I go in alot... occasionally, they even beat newegg prices. It's just fun to look at the stuff on the shelves and occasionally hold it all in my hands before I decide to buy. If newegg had a store or warehouse I'd bet I can waste weeks of my life just shopping around. hehe
