How to make Vista instantly load... - Page 3

We are not trying to be mean friend but you are not doing anything special and by trying to defend yourself it just makes it more silly. Its like me posting about making my first ISO sure its great sure I was excited but no biggie and I knew that and when ppl make comments about big deal all I said was hey I am just proud I did something. I also did not name the post OMG THE BEST ISO EVER MADE EVER! see that would be misleading!

I know all this is upsetting for you I know how you feel I have been there! But, its something that happens in this field!

While it is nice that apps will run from the other OS, no real gain except the partition vista is on stays cleaner.

And yes, some older CRT monitors are better than LCD's for many things...
I have to load nothing manually. I can start doing whatever i want as soon as my desktop is up.

Also my memory is running at about 2.7gb/s which is slow. Perhaps if i had a C2D @ 3ghz dual channel 2gb DDR2 ram and a raid configuration it would boot twice as fast, but considering how much slower my computer is compared to everyone elses....its fast.

I would say that if my computer wasnt only a year old.....now if it was on my P4 setup, then i would put old...but i dont think 2006 hardware is old just yet...its fast, just not near as fast as most. Its fast enough for me right now and fast enough to game with.

Ok, so maybe closer to a year and half, but not quite that yet really either. Also, this computer is more new to me, being my last build and just upgraded the 8800GTS and PSU in it.

CRTs have latency somewhere in the nanoseconds, whereas the LCDs have latencies usually of 5-16ms. To some people it makes a big difference.

Also, CRTs have higher refresh rates than LCDs which can allow more FPS.

Personally, i'd rather have an LCD simply because they're easier on my eyes. I can't look at a CRT for too long without needing to look away.

Uhm, no.

LCD's provide a continuous stream of light, meanwhile a CRT will dim right after an electron beam passes over it. Therefore, CRT's don't "allow more FPS" than an LCD monitor.

2ms LCD's are readily available to the public.

So what you have, is a very clean OS with nothing on it so it boots ultra fast (mine boots almost instantly, with a second or so, seriously) and you can then (once its booted up) start your anti-virus or whatever you want and it should work (AVG 7.5 works fine installed on XP 32 and ran on Vista 64).

...
which is it?
I don't know about you, but surfing the internet without virus and spam protection is not smart, so it needs to be loaded.

Well, unless your surfing porn sites/ pirate sites/ or any illegal sites you dont really need an anti-virus. I go to 3 main websites on the internet, here, youtube, and facebook. I hardly see the need for it. Windows Defender is enough as long as your not doing anything illegal with your computer that could put it at risk.

All depends on what your doing. But like i said, you can load up AVG or choose to have it startup with Vista and problem solved. I dont feel the need for it as iv actually ran XP for months without using an anti-virus just anti-spyware and every now and then ill load up AVG and run a check and never had one problem.

And what do you mean which is it?
