Make HD Tach work in Vista 64bit

I don't know if this has been mentioned here before but to make HD Tach work in Vista 64bit, do the following:

1. Download and Install HD Tach
2. Right click on shortcut
3. Go to the compatibility tab
4. Choose run in XP SP2 mode.

There you go, HD Tach should now work.

I don't know if this will make other programs work under vista 64bit but you can try.

Good post as it also brings too attention that lovely XP SP2 compatibility mode feature that many folks seem to be unaware of.

The Run in Windows XP SP2 Mode will work in either 32 or 64bit Vista. Running it in compatibility mode will work for several other programs as long as they don't require a signed driver in 64-Bit Vista. It may work in 32-Bit since it doesn't enforce driver signing.

What you mean it may work?

This works in both 64bit and 32bit. But 64bit does require a signed driver.
