Newegg's X2 5000+ Black Edition: G2 or G1 stepping?

Newegg's 5000+ Black's model# is ADO5000DSWOF.

From AMD's web site:

http://products.amd.com/en-us/Deskto...ail.aspx?id=39
showing ADO5000DSWOF as G1

http://products.amd.com/en-us/Deskto...ail.aspx?id=38
showing ADO5000IAA5DO as G2

Now I am confused: are these ADO5000DSWOF G1 or G2 stepping? And where does Tom's hardware get their ADO5000IAA5DS from?

The chip in Tom's hardware review is an ADO5000IAA5DS, not the ADO5000DSWOF that Egg is selling:
http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/10/...t_overclocker/

Tom's review even have the CPU picture which shows it's an ADO5000IAA5DS model right on the CPU cap. So it's a G2 for sure. But Newegg's 5000+ Black's model# is ADO5000DSWOF which, accordiing to AMD's web site, still a G1.

According to wikipedia:
  • Athlon 64 X2 5000+ = ADO5000IAA5DD
  • Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (G2, black edition) = ADO5000IAA5DS
  • Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (G2)= ADO5000IAA5DO

ADO5000IAA5DS seems to be availabe in Japan only. lolz Japan haz Black Editionz

zipzoomfly is out of stock on the G2, so apparently what units that you/we find are still G1.

The only 5000 black edition I can find on zipzoomfly.com is this one, and it's in stock: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...tCode=10006926

Are you talking about another item?

Yichen, something different I noticed. According to (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD...000DOBOX).html), the ADO5000IAA5DO runs at these rated voltages: 1.325 / 1.35 / 1.375. I couldn't find ADO5000DSWOF on cpu-world.com but according to AMD's website the rated voltages are 1.25 / 1.35. Perhaps thats one of the differences?

I sure hope ADO5000DSWOF is G2, coz I just ordered one from NewEgg.

Will report back after I receive it.
