Yeah, I stepped the base to make it just small enough to fit over a large quad core die size plus a little. There are a few blocks with this feature now, XSPC delta V3, and I think the new OCZ block, it's supposed to work similar to bowing of the base.

Here is a quick internal, it's a very unique design. It incorporates sort of a storm jet style in two stages and a more typical square pin matrix. I think it would do even better with a finer pin base.

Let us know how much the stepping helps on it...It still surprises me that its not a lot more restrictive then a Storm....Its a paint peeler no doubt...

I will. I'm not entirely convinced it does that much, but I've been suprised before.

Yeah, the block is restrictive that's for sure, it's very well made though. It has the weight and feel of an all metal block, unfortunately that's not the case with the third acrylic layer on the very top.

Its worth a shot, anything helps...That would be a nice all metal block..Have you heard anything about the silver base version? I know during the pre-release for those blocks they said they might have a silver base to..That would be sick..

Here's a design I have been looking at for a while now.. sorta 'next-level Atric-Web' ...if you will.

Attachment 83338

It would feature a total of 6 ports.. 2x inputs, each with a Jet nozzle.. and 4x outputs. Another feature I have recently seen on another block, is the 'core plate' to isolate some flow between the cores or halves of the block.

I have been concentrating somewhat on a 'universal' type of top..as I feel that block bottoms are pretty high-end now..and not really a whole lot of room for improvement [temp wise] can be gained from redesigning the pin-layout and such..things can only get so thin..and surface area is still the key factor.

If a top [such as mine] could be made with a variety of bolt patterns, it shouldn't be too hard to mate it with another base..say off of my GTX, for example. Experimenting using existing bases with a newly designed top, is what I would be trying to accomplish.

*Don't laugh too hard at meh paint skills.. made the sketch a while back on my work lappy.

You could jet something like that down pretty well and still get good flow using a 4 port res for the return lines...Thats puuuuurty compared to my paint...
