Hey Slickwilly, I searched around the internet concerning cutting oils a couple days ago and read alot of good stuff about water soluable solutions, mainly that for industrial highspeed work, it's probably the best solution. But what I kept seeing over and over was horror stories of how bad it smells. That grown blue collar working men feel like throwing up working around the stuff. That it smelled worse then week old dead animals. Not to mention that it has bacterial growth as well. I doubt I would put up with it if it were my choice. I know the shop chief would have me cleaning that stuff out if I did and probably take my free reign over all the toys in that shop away too lol.

I ordered this for the sump

http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT...MT4NO=65806697

since it's mineral oil based and mentions it's "especially suited for high speed aluminum and brass machining.." which hopefully also translates into being good for copper. Not to mention it's cheaper then most at that site at $17.50. Costing me an additional $21 to ship, but hopefully will help make clean cuts.

Also went ahead and got a gallon of WD40 and a non-aerosol spray bottle. Will use the WD40 to cut the edging and shaving the block down and hopefully the Mobilcut jugs will be here by the end of the week and I will do the internals then.

Machining acetal......use cutting oil or no?

Hello all I finally got my block on and I am quit pleased with it's performance, my motherboard temps are ,idle 34, 100% CPU load 38

This is with a Black ice GT stealth 3X120 that I got from nuclearcrap
3 Scythe ultra Kaze 3000 from KinZee
and a D-tek V1 I bought from hoth17
I will get some screenies as soon as I get the wiring of the 3 fans worked out.
They are loud on full speed but I have a speed controller.

(edit)
nafljhy I was mistaken that block is amazingly beautiful with your plate on top.

all that shiny brass reminds me of graduation day in Basic training, everyone standing around in their class A uniforms with polished brass buttons and lapel pins.
