I'm guessing you only run the overvolt and oc spd's listed when you need them right? I don't think you need more vcore. It quite possibly could use less if you can get it stable. If you have the option to use hot keys when powering on then may I suggest that you save stock settings to one hot key and overclock to another hot key and only use the overclock when apsolutely necessary as to prolong the life of your cpu and stave off any electromigration as long as possible. just keep your temps undercontrol and you should be fine.

Well i had to return to stock speed because of a little video card problem, so before reovercloking it i was wondering what voltage to use, because it's at 1.35v by default in my bios. Like i said, i just find it strange that i can't go past 1.4v when many ppl said they can go up to 1.5... So what would u suggest for a 3.0Ghz overclock? 1.35, 1.375 or 1.4?

EDIT: Why is vcore so often ignored? A CPU Freq/Voltage Table would be great.

Vortez.... the lowest vcore you can use to get a stable overclock would be what you're after.

Exactelactely: Vortez more volts = more cpu heat, higher frequencies = more heat, volts + frequency = even more heat. so the trick is to find the least amount of voltage possible to keep your overclock cool & stable. do you have overvolt turned on or off? there are a few things you can do to speed up your system besides overclocking. lets say your not using a floppy, or all of your sata ports, any ports that your not using turn them off or disable them. disable smart hdd and anything that your not using. it will prevent the os from using resorces that it would otherwise use to make them function. hope this helps.

Edit: oh yeah other reasons for disabling as many features not used is to minimize system heat mobo heat and any power surge from your power supply that would be required to power those features.

CALL-DUTY4 I got the same mobo as you do and am only running a Zalman 9500A....with Idle temps @ 26-27C for CPU and Mobo, with load temps @48-50C. Here's why I think you can hit 3450Mhz:

1. Change your RAM to Corsair 1066 and use these settings, on 1603 BIOS:

Settings you cant see: CPU vcore = 1.4750 || HT Multiplier = 4x || trfc = 3 or max. || Max. Async = 8ns || trc = 26 || CPU<>NB HT = 1.250v || NB<>SB HT = 1.35v || NB<>PCI-E = 1.250v || SB<>PCI-E = (auto) || SB standby voltage = 1.7v or max. || SLI Ready memory = Enabled / optimal / max. OC || NB<>SB HT Frequency = (auto) || PCI-E busses = locked @ 100Mhz.

Using cross multiplying: 3204/2.6 = x/2.8

(3204x2.8) / 2.6 = 3450Mhz

I don't have a 5400 B.E. sitting around but I bet I could drop it into my mobo with the exact same BIOS settings and get 3450 Mhz. I'm not sure that cross multiplying works with CPU's like it does with most other math, but I also don't see why it shouldn't....and BTW this is 24 hour Orthos - Blend - Priority 9

With the 1066Mhz RAM you HAVE to use 12 x 267 to achieve the 1068 HT clock.

.....and here is my Idle temps with ambient room temp of 18C or 64F:

Are you telling me that I can get my 5400+ to hit 3450 stable if I use 1066 mhz ram???
