[The Inq]: AMD to launch three Phenom CPUs this month - Page 3

I get tired of seeing every AMD thread ragged to death by intel users saying AMD sucks.

I use an AMD processor but I respect intel users enough to not go into their threads and harass them to death.

well said, well said. i totally agree with what you're saying

Thats not very good for the environment. Not too many people care though. The way I see it, is as soon as we start getting CPUs and GFX cards that use LESS wattage, the better. Electricity comes at the price of the environment guys. Now im not saying become an environmentalist or anything, but if everyone does just a little bit, it can make a huge difference.

Umm, did I miss something? Since when did this become AMD only forums. Intel fanboys and users alike can go wherever, and say whatever they want, as long as it abides by the forum guidelines. I agree that hearing people down AMD in every single thread is annoying, but if someone wants to believe that the streets are lined with gold if they use a certain CPU, then let them. Ignorance is bliss, TBH. I would just wish people had a little more respect for others choices.

Don't ask.

I think AMD uses ranges, while Intel uses averages...

So for AMD:
90-125w = "125w"
66-89w = "89w"

While for Intel:
80-110w = "95w"

Then add on the extra from Intel's northbridges.
I would think that if a company used the system you said AMD does, they would at least choose to name it by the lowest, the one that would catch the most attention.

but... but... when you bought a 125w max load CPU and a heatsink with a max of 80.. you'd be in trouble.

Well same would go for intel's "averaging" then, right? They advertise the middle, but what if you get a HSF for the minimal when the CPU actually requires more?
