Ok so I got GoW today but was sad when I found out that to use AA you have to be in Windows Vista. Well I got wise and renamed Startup.exe (GoW executable) to BioShock.exe and then used nHancer's BioShock profile to mess around with some AA. At 3 separate places I took 5 screenshots: No AA, 2x MSAA, 4x MSAA, 8x CSAA, and 16xQ CSAA
In-game video settings:
Resolution: 1680x1050
Postprocess Display Setting: Intense
Postprocess quality: High
Texture Quality: Highest
Character Detail: High
Visual Effects Detail: High
Decal Quality: Dynamic
Shadow Quality: High
VSync: Off
DX10/Antialiasing: Greyed-out (off)
Scene 1:
No AA
2x MSAA
4x MSAA
8x CSAA
16xQ CSAA
Scene 2:
No AA
2x MSAA
4x MSAA
8x CSAA
16xQ CSAA
Scene 3:
No AA
2x MSAA
4x MSAA
8x CSAA
16xQ CSAA
In my opinion, the choice with the best quality to performance ratio is 4x MSAA. It gets rid of the jaggies that stand out and doesn't kill your framerate. Comparison shots were done on my q6600 computer with the gtx slightly underclocked to 612/1458/945.
