One stick of 2 Gb Kit DDR2 (2x 1Gb) 4-4-4-10 800Mhz is corrupt

Ok firstly, I have tried using the contact form on www.tankguys.com multiple times, but haven't gotten any response. You guys seem active here so hopefully you will respond to my question here.

Back in August of 2006, I purchased 1 x 2 Gb Kit DDR2 (2x 1Gb)
4-4-4-10 800Mhz (Model: TXDD2048M800) from www.tankguys.com. The ram worked fine until a week ago when I booted up the computer it would
beep. I took out one module, and same thing, I put the other memory
module back in and took the other out, and it booted up fine. Just to
make sure, I took the "suspect" memory module to my friends computer
and put that in, booted up and the same beeping. The memory must be
corrupt. I currently am in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada attending
university, however when the ram was purchased I was living at home in
London, Ontario, Canada. Anyways I purchased the RAM from you guys but I believe I have misplaced the receipt.

What I'm wondering is how does this RMA policy work for TeamGroup. Should I contact them directly?
If I can send it directly to Teamgroup, can I just send my order confirmation printed off from my account on tankguys.com?

If sending the RAM to you is an option, can I just send the one broken stick?
(my computer is running off the one working stick, so sending both is not preferred)

Thanks for any help,

Hello!

Sorry if you haven't gotten a response - I don't recall seeing any messages like this, so it may have gotten caught in the SPAM filter or something. Either way, sorry about that!

Anyway - the memory does have a lifetime warranty, provided by Teamgroup. As it is a manufacturer warranty, they would handle it directly. You can use this link:

If you have any problems though, let us know.

so a quick question,

Me not having the origional receipt that came with the ram, does a printed off order confirmation from my account on your website work just as well?

tankguys have great support, they are top notch

BTW, when you contact Team on the RAM, you might be able to request a cross shipping where they send the replacement first! Do ask if that is possible. Make sure you tell them you can not be with out your PC!

They used to do this, but not any more

Some "very nice person" ruined that policy. He left the bad memory in his car - with the windows down - while he went shopping on the way to ship the memory back. It got stolen, and he refused to pay for it. He says that since he would have never been put in that situation if they memory hadn't gone bad, it wasn't his responsibility.

Thanks to "very nice people" like him, they don't do cross shipping anymore
