Hmm - why do you think I should upgrade to Vista?

Xp home is very basic. Even XP Pro 32 is much better than this. Whether go for Vista 32/64, that's personal preference. I don't like Vista but as the trend. That's way to go especially want to use DX10 etc.

I wouldn't. Stick with XP until service pack 1 is released for Vista...just my opinion.

You should also consider upgrading the GPU to an 8800gtx! I love mine but wouldn't go MSI again, I'd go for the eVGA.

As you said, you can stick with xp but you need to upgrade or get a new Vista later on. If money isn't issue, I agree.

Get Vista. It's stable, and performance is good. No need to wait for SP1. Vista is MUCH better 'pre-SP' than XP was. For once, MS actually delivered a pretty good OS right from the start.

Otherwise, CPU and mobo are good. I would look into better RAM that can handle the high speeds required for a nice OC on the E6750. Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 or better comes to mind (To run ~3.6GHz, you'll need DDR2 900 speeds... not sure if the Corsairs are cut for that speed).

Case is good. As I said, get Vista (64-bit preferred). GPU and monitor are excellent (don't go 'down' to 19"... you'll love the higher resolution, and the GPU can handle it). Hard drive and cooling are good also. Regarding PSU, see if you can find the Corsair 550VX... I am not too thrilled about the Antec Truepower Trio series.

if ur gonna get a P35 you might as well get an ati 3870, its cheaper than the 8800gt and its not that big of a performance difference. you can also do crossfire in the future
