That is correct.

As you can see in my sig I have the Striker Extreme.... not very striking... not very extreme, but that refers only to a Quad.

I have almost saved enough for an EVGA 680i (A1 or T1). If your friend really wants SLI, then perhpas one of those 2 mobos. They seem to have the best track record for OC'ing Quads.

I have even considered throwing in the towel, and returning to P35 or getting an X38 NB mobo...

note: Others have had some excellent results from the Striker, but not me.

That's hard to tell, computer prices are different all over the world, ask a Canadian hehe, we get shafted. Our dollar is worth more then the American dollar but we pay more for parts. The UK and Australia have it even worse.

They'd be about the same performance, however the 2900Pro is a better deal it's just a downclocked XT for less money, it'll overclock to the exact same speeds as the XT

If you go CF, you can stick with P35 board which is good for Q6600.
