What is the average laptop watt usage?

How much watt does a laptop use?

My little brother just bought a laptop and I'll be folding on it 24/7, but I would like to know how much watts it will be using.

It's a Gateway T2310

-T2310 @ 1.46GHz
-2x512MB
-Integrated video

I will be folding with the monitor turned off. So, anyone know the average watt used on today's laptops?

To be honest i can't give you an exact answer to this as im' not sure, but what i can tell you my gaming laptop had to be upgraded from a 65w to a 90w charger. If this is a base model laptop it should only 65w charger, which is more power than the laptop uses as this is enough to both run the laptop and charge the battery.

You can easily tell by looking at the power brick for the laptop. The laptop's power draw will be less than the maximum wattage of the 'brick'. Folding will be using much of the laptop's maximum power, however you will be saved some by not using the screen. I expect the screen to draw approximately 20-30W.
