Best Build for a $1000

Thread Starter
Ok guys I am looking at building a new rig. I wanna do some OCing (never done it before) so what is the best build for a $1000? I have already purchased a black Thermaltake Armor ($49) and 2GB of OCZ Reaper ($45), so actually the other parts need to add up to $900. Intel CPU and nvidia GPU are my preferences. Thanks guys i would appreciate it.

I would upgrade that 8800GT to 512mb if you can; 256mb is getting thin for newer games, especially on anything over 1280x1024

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130303

You'll blow your budget by 10 dollars for a superclocked 512mb version (it's actually the cheapeast 512mb I could find on newegg)

Good list. Abit boards are very good now. I owned two Abit boards and used them to build rigs for others.

Because XP is already out since quite some time and most likely everyone has it already?

Or doesn't pay for it?

Duh?

what about a case and a monitor? people hardly every incluse those three things.

also you may try a e2160 or e2180 (or a e2220 when it comes) instad of the 6750 the e21x0 cpus are around $75 and can normally OC to around 3.0 to 2.4GHZ(sometimes a little more) stable. where-as the 6750 is near $200 and the quad is less then $100 more
