What to do first: Update windows or install chipset drivers?

I'm going to format and reinstall windows (Vista Ultimate 64) due to an issue with my G15. The first time I installed I let Vista update before installing chipset/mobo drivers...is this the correct order to do this?

This will be only my third time installing an OS. So if you want to provide a complete checklist, I won't mind

i always do the mobo drivers then the updates

same here. I always get the systems drivers all loaded before I worry about windows. I usually install AVG first, then LAN drivers so i can go online and get all the updated mobo/gfx/audio drivers etc.

So you would recommend that I install VGA/Sound Card drivers before updating as well?

I would say so yes, I normally install mobo/gpu drivers first then firewall/av/spyware etc to go online.

First thing I do is tweak windows.... check from my sig, lots of useful information. After tweaking, then I would do windows updates, drivers, etc.
